Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water (Japanese: ふしぎの海のナディア Fushigi no Umi no Nadia, lit. "Nadia of the Mysterious Seas") is a 1990s Japanese animated TV series inspired by the works of Jules Verne, namely 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and the exploits of Captain Nemo. The series follows Nadia, a circus proformer of unknown origin who desires to return home in Africa, and Jean, a young French inventor as the two find themselves caught in a struggle to save the world from Neo-Atlantean forces bent on global domination. The series originally aired 39 episodes on NHK-G from 1990 to 1991.
